You will be responsible for
Dry-dock and major repairs, Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs
Operating expenditure.
Survey and audit requirements
Development of vessel budgets
Strategies in place for maintaining appropriate certification.
Endorse the appropriate manning appointments on assigned vessels with Marine HR Resources.
Set clear goals and expectations for Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore.
Provide Technical and Operational support and guidance to assigned vessels
Ensure timely and cost effective supply of stores and spares
Arrange attendance of service engineers and contractors
Take part in interviews and make recommendations in respect to new-hires and promotees
Arrange class surveys
Coordinate with relevant shore based resources to support the vessels
Arrangement of all dry-dock activities and analysis of costs
Reporting Technical and Operational issues appropriately
Coordinate and agree vessel audits and onboard training
Act as the Main contact for commercial and voyage coordination for assigned vessels
Ensure Safety and Environmental compliance
Ensure all statutory and class certification remains valid and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards
Carry out regular Risk reviews for vessel operations and ensure appropriate actions are taken
Monitor vessel planned maintenance and ensure actions are taken
Carry out regular vessel visits to confirm condition and compliance with Teekay Operating Standards
Provide Sr. Management with Vessel Condition reports
Review assigned vessels performance and ensure follow up action
Monitor results of all vetting inspections. Ensure follow-up on findings and close outs
Monitor all voyages to ensure balance of safety, economics and customer satisfaction
Review purchasing performance
Ensure vessels maintain adequate stocks of critical spare parts
Ensure that Masters and Chief Engineers drive People Performance, through appropriate systems
Conduct Performance reviews with direct reports
Monitor budgetary status and keep all stakeholders informed
Analyze the nature and cause of any serious breakdown or damages
Provide feedback on performance of direct reports
Provide key learnings following completion of dry-docking and major repairs of assigned vessels
Drive improvement in vessel purchase activities
Act upon any disciplinary actions needed on board assigned vessels
Ensure vessels Senior Officer Teams are in place on board and drive ownership through paired reliefs
Requirements
A desire to drive continuous improvement in self and others

Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner
Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Preferably education and experience as a marine engineer
Knowledge of technical operations for the vessel types managed
Knowledge of propulsion plant onboard vessels managed
Knowledge of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board vessels managed

Qualifications/Experience required:

Previous LPG/LNG experience would be preferable, however a tanker/chemical background would be considered. In addition to your technical expertise, you must be an excellent communicator, computer literate, and possess good organisational and administrative skills.
This position will require extensive travel world-wide. |
